Executive Director of Community Voices Heard (CVH)

Afua (a-fee-ya) Mensah is very invested in Community Voices Heard (CVH) mission and vision.  Afua Mensah is the Executive Director of CVH and holds a Law Degree and BA in Sociology and African American History. She is currently leading a grassroots fight against a city proposal to rezone a huge portion of East Harlem for residential towers and infill public housing property with new development.  Additionally, CVH is demanding that Mayor De Blasio’s administration first allocate $200 million to fix and upgrade existing public housing buildings and increase the number affordable units for families making $23,000 and less.

With Afua Mensah on board, there is nothing she will not do to ensure proper rights of the people. CVH is an organization we need to get behind, to continue the movement for improvement within our communities. While there is a discussion of rent increase, it is very important to stay informed of support programs like CVH benefiting low-income families. Our interview is very honest. We discussed NYCHA and legislation, as well as criminalize marital rape. Please welcome our new Keyplayer Afua Atta Mensah as we destroy urban myths and how to uplift our urban communities.  For more information about how you can get involved contact http://cvhaction.org.  Just Press
