A Filmmaker on Purpose

Arthur Muhammad, is an independent film director, producer, and screenwriter. Muhammad is a true visionary and his films are innovative and enriching.  Each project maintains a creative storytelling approach, with a unique end twist.  Muhammad’s directorial debut on the big screen was Carter High (starring Charles S. Dutton, Vivica A. Fox, Pooch Hall, Reginald C. Hayes, and David Banner).   Muhammad has created a lane for himself in film, releasing over twenty films to date.  Each of his films incite conversation and critical thinking while imparting impactful life lessons to the audience.  His latest film Twelve is about a family gathering that turns into an eerie game of confession in the new comedy thriller.  It begins after the funeral of the family patriarch, Pops, played by Ted Lange (Issac of The Love Boat), the family returns home and decides to take comfort in the age-old tradition of playing dominoes, as they fondly reminisce about Pops. Dame Drummer, a singer-songwriter, Grammy-certified producer and award-winning filmmaker, is dedicated to nurturing culture through music and film.  Drummer’s creative gifts have reached people all over the world.  In 2013, Drummer released his debut self-produced album Breathe.  The album takes you through a journey of life, love, pain and victory.  He continued to develop his catalog with releases of self-produced full length albums entitled Loveolution (A Love Letter To Black Folks), Aye Yai Yai, featuring controversial songs like Burn It Down and Get What You Gave that provide a super melodic presentation on critical race theory.  The title song, Aye Yai Yai, is Drummer’s first song he wrote after battling deep depression that almost cost him his life.  Drummer’s first film, Black Daddy: The Movie, had sold out shows at Battery SF, Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival and Yoshi’s Oakland.  His current album Our Love, features his debut single Simply Beautiful, an Al Green classic.  The single was recorded to pay homage to Al Green for inspiring a young Dame Drummer.  Our Love features songs like Angel, Dance and Run It Up.  Let’s just say you’re in for a real musical journey.

Pastor Jason Hendrickson is a powerful preacher and teacher of the Gospel as well as a Christian tastemaker and influencer.  He epitomizes the moniker of a servant who knows how to invest his talents, skills and abilities.  Jason Hendrickson’s passion for music began at the early age of five, banging on his mother’s pots.  He eventually became a professional drummer.  His ability to play drums led to touring opportunities with Lost Boyz/Mr. Cheeks and Faith Evans.  Shifting from the secular platform, Hendrickson was planted to play for Bishop Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir, gaining notoriety as a master percussionist.  Compiling all his experiences, Hendrickson decided to make a change by moving from behind the scenes to release his own EP.  Shifting to a songwriter position, he has penned music for several of his own projects as well as for Grammy and Stellar Award-winning recording artist Marvin Sapp.  The music of Jason Hendrickson fulfills his mission to use everyday life experiences to encourage and uplift people to renew their hope in God.  Currently, he is featured on a single by Digital Native titled Goodness Praise Break.  A gospel house mix you are guaranteed to enjoy. Music Group collaboration.  The single reached #2 on the legendary Traxsource.com Soulful House chart, where it continued to chart for over eight weeks straight.  Top House and Dance Music DJs listed Goodness Praise Break as a song that they included in their sets.  Goodness Praise Break, is considered a Gospel House track which essentially expresses spiritual lyrics predominantly under the Christian genre.  Gospel House music is a Christian alternative to dance music.  Gospel House is one of my favorite Christian genres of music. Jacob G. is a Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, producer and drummer. He is living out his dream full-time producing and creating music.   He has his own record label titled Soulful Seed.  He has written and performed with artists like Los Lobos, Twain, and Little Willie G.  Jacob G. is lead singer for The Latin Dead, who was voted in the Top 50 albums of 2023 by NPR music.  He has been blessed to share the stage with artists such as The Banda Bros., Ry Cooder, The Younghearts, The Ultimates and The Nu Rons to name a few.  Jacob G. is currently working on his sophomore album.  His debut single is titled, In Love With You and is available on all digital platforms.  Jacob’s voice is effortless and soulful when he sings classics and contemporary songs.   In Love With You is a remake, and Jacob G. has made it his own.  Not many can do that but when you have a respect for classic soul.  It just comes easy.

There are layers to award-winning soul singer, songwriter and producer Teri Tobin.  Each layer reveals a lusher depth, a more meaningful experience, an expressive passion and an abiding generosity, in Tobin’s music and womanhood.  All of who Tobin is and what she’s lived through comes through her testimonial of song.  For example, Good Morning Love is a song full of emotions and personal love notes.  Good Morning Love is not just another love song.  It is a song of endearment, for you, me and the love hidden inside of us. Tobin admits she was born with a love jones, being her birthday is on Valentine’s Day.   Therefore, the chances of Tobin singing a love song, healing message and promoting self-love and acceptance, she received it honestly.  To put things in perspective.  Teri Tobin performed background work with Joe, Mica Paris, Chico Debarge and Chante Moore.   Moving from background to center stage has not been an easy feat.
