Where The Development of a Child’s Mind Is Our Main Focus. The BEY Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides FREE after school & summer programs for ages 8-17. BEY Foundation creates and provide after-school and summer programs for elementary, middle, and high school students in the New York City area. BEY Foundation’s goal is to create economic value (EV rated) based programs that equip its students with relevant knowledge and skills that increases their chance of success in entrepreneurial and employment markets by 100%. Through flexible teaching coupled with current information students will be trained, guided and prepared to be valuable employees in the current job market and to be successful in entrepreneurial endeavors.
BEY Foundation is an organization that was established by two young men that understand the need. Anthonyquiame Jackson-bey (r) and Darnell Pittman(l) are in direct response to the growing need of a bridge to connect education and information learned in public and charter schools and the growing demand in the current business and job markets. To date BEY Foundation has created eleven (11) programs (including 2 fund raising programs) that adequately addresses these concerns and provide a unique approach in the learning experience.
BEY Foundation’s programs will run five days a week during the school year 2pm to 7pm. Students will gain the necessary knowledge and skills needed to be socially adaptable in the diverse markets which awaits them. The BEY Foundation is designed to create entrepreneurial and employment opportunities for everyone that comes through its doors. To date Bey Foundation has created eleven (11) programs such as:
Chess Lords®: A human interactive chess program where students learn by being actual pieces on a life-size chess board. Young Entrepreneur Program® (YEP®): A three phased interactive program where students learn basic to advanced entrepreneurial principals and skills through use of board games and actual experience. Project: Million®: A fund raising project involving participating organizations collection of one million bottles and cans to convert to $50,000 cash for organizational needs. Project Penny Drive®: A fund raising project involving participating organizations collection and contribution of twenty five pennies per day to add an additional minimum of $15,000 for organizational needs. Golden Tongue®: An interactive language learning program utilizing software such as the Rosetta Stone. My Notes®: An interactive music program teaching students basic to advance musical concepts and composition through use of software, live instruments and instruction. Young Techs®: An interactive computer program teaching and training students about hardware and software technologies in preparation to becoming IT technicians. My Health®: A mental health assessment program for participating students. Teen Fit®: An interactive physical fitness program incorporating basic fitness training, dieting and long term weight control. I Produce®: An interactive film and production program that instructs, trains, guide and assist students in becoming independent movie and television producers. My Law®: An interactive legal research program that teaches students about the fundamentals of government in preparation to becoming paralegals.
The BEY Foundation is very active in the Harlem Community and has gain support from the Harlem Youth Marines Inc. This past summer the BEY Foundation had an early registration drive through out Harlem which was very successful. The nature and extent of your involvement is important to the BEY Foundation. You can donate your professional time to provide a career path and industry skill needed to the BEY participants.
