In 2012, Dr. Charles W. Powell II faced a life?altering blow: he lost his sight to a rare eye condition. But in his words, he did not lose his vision. Let that sit for a moment. What could have ended his momentum instead ignited a new chapter of purpose, discipline, and divine determination. The loss of sight is devastating by any measure, it did not stop Dr. Powell from ascending to extraordinary academic and professional heights. He reeducated himself through screen reading technology and adaptive tools, then went on to earn an Associate degree, two Bachelor’s degrees, three Master’s degrees, and a Doctor of Business Administration. Today, every one of those degrees is actively at work Dr. Powell is an educator, published scholar, curriculum developer, entrepreneur, disability advocate, and Founder & CEO of Divine Visions Enterprise™. His story, shared in our interview, reveals the man he was before losing his sight and the powerhouse he became afterward.
