Know your history to know your future. For all intrigued, and just in time for both Black History Month and Women’s History Month – Lin M. Ross’s Priestess in a Stained-Glass Cathedral offers poetic insight into the music, the activism, the loves, the life of the legendary Nina SimoneLin M. Ross is a New Yorker, transplanted to South Carolina. (Just a state-shy of Tyron, North Carolina where Nina Simone was born Eunice Kathleen Waymon.)

Musical styles come and go, but there is always an inspirational song which sits in the harmony of our hearts.  It’s a melody within us which surfaces when we need it.  Kelly Wright is a singer-songwriter who wears many hats.  Recently he returned to his first love, music.  Wright’s new single, This Little Light, is a motivational song off his new album titled Free.  With the world in travail right now, affirmation of strength is what we need.  The war in Ukraine, the crisis in Haiti, the crisis in Ethiopia, racial divide and political division are at an all time high.  Wright’s song is not the answer to all the problems he sees going on, but it is a reminder to shine in the midst of dark times.  Kelly Wright strives to create a movement through his music that will encourage and bring out the champion in you.

Joshua Rogers, a Greeleyville, South Carolina native has returned to the gospel charts again with his single Still Gon Trust Still Gon Trust is a personal testament of how Joshua endured during the height of the pandemic.  How appropriate is his song during this time of war between Russia and Ukraine Joshua Rogers understands how disruptions caused by life can place you in despair.  One day, everything is good and then life pulls the rug from under your feet.  Still Gon Trust is relevant for anyone who has faced or is facing life challenges.  Whether you are a believer or someone who is in need of hope for a better tomorrow.  We thank God for a joyful noise in the air.  Still Gon Trust is a friendly reminder, no matter what the circumstances are, as a believer we can place our trust in the word of God.  Taking our hands off and allowing our faith to activate in something greater than ourselves.
