Old-school greats came together in the boogie down Bronx, for a great cause on October 28th 2011. Kangol Kid said it best. The media will inform you when rappers or members of the hip-hop community do something wrong but where are they when the hip hop community is doing something positive. Well the Old-School Heroes of Hip-Hop came together for STAT! For New York City’s Public Hospitals! In association with The New York City and Hospitals Corporation (HHC).
HHC is an integrated health care delivery system with its own 480,000 member health plan, MetroPlus, and is the largest municipal healthcare organization in the country. HHC serves 1.3 million New Yorkers every year and more than 475,000 are uninsured. They provide medical, mental health, and substance abuse services through its 11 acute care hospitals, four skilled nursing facilities, six large diagnostic and treatment centers and more than 80 community based clinics. HHC Health and Home Care also provide Healing-home services for New Yorkers. STAT! 2011 is presented by the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation and The Fund for HHC. Proceeds from the Stat! 2011 series will help to launch HHC’s campaign against gun violence in our communities.
