Wu-Tang Clan Mics and Men

Wu-Tang Clan four-part documentary, Mics and Men will air on May 10th at 9pm on Showtime television.  The legendary Staten Island Hip-Hop clan is celebrating its 25th anniversary of their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).  I had the pleasure of sitting in on a discussion about their documentary Mics and Men directed by Sacha Jenkins. The evening filled with moments of remembrance of late beloved Ol Dirty, fond memories of their humble beginnings and some of their greatest achievements. In attendance was RZA, GZA, Inspectah Deck and Cappadonna.  My first time in marketing and promotions, was working with my friend Reg-Reg and guess who was one of our clients. Just a little Key Player trivia. Anyway it was fun to reconnect and see how far we all have come.

Pop Da Brown Hornet (The Brown Bomber)  is a hip-hop enthusiast, writer and performer from Staten Island. Known for notable songs and projects like The Underground Emperor. Brown Hornet has returned with his current release Foreman Mandela. This is his second solo project. In 2017 he released The Emperor and The King with recording artist King Just. A Pioneer figure from Staten Island, Brown Hornet’s reputation for classic hip-hop remains in tact. Maintaining a lyrical mastery as his predecessors such as KRS 1, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane and Rakim. Formerly a MCA Records recording artist, Brown Hornet rises up out of the clutter of rappers to take his rightful place.

Brandon Williams musician, producer, drummer and singer.  He is known by industry legends as a musical architect, able to bring a musical blend of sounds as a master craftsman.  Brandon Williams continues to create an impressive resume.  His latest single In Love, from his upcoming album, The Love Factor, reminds us of that good ole R&B music we enjoy most.  The soulful ballad In Love, features vocalist Brian McKnight, Jr. It’s a love anthem about finding your true love and honoring your perfect match.  Appropriate love is something we all can use at this time.  Aside from working with the who’s who in music,  The Love Factor focus is to rekindle spreading love through music. Not since Anita Baker and others have we had love albums that made us feel good or indifferent in a musical way not offensive.  Brandon Williams, a protégé of Grammy and Billboard super producer Michael J. Powell (Anita Baker), I am sure The Love Factor will refresh our memories.

I would like to introduce to you Mrs. Diane Anderson, CEO of Meet Me At The Crossroads, Youth/Young Adult Training Workshops and Seminars; To Inspire, Motivate, Encourage and Empower.  Meet Me At The Crossroads is a much-needed program designed to empower our youth ages 13 to 19 and young adults 20 to 30.  Diane Anderson will be hosting an event August 25th Saturday 9am to 11am at 1055 Summit Avenue Bronx, NY. The agenda will address Healthy Relationships.  During their Healthy Relationships workshop event August 25th Saturday 9am to 11am, Diane will address the troubling disconnect between adults and youth. With a vast array of teen deaths, suicides, drugs and gang violence, be encouraged, something is being done at the crossroads. Meet Me At The Crossroads offer various training workshops and seminars to aid these issues. Healthy Relationships will address our separation of guidance and lack of understanding our youth.   In order to see our youth grow up as responsible adults, Meet Me At The Crossroads Healthy Relationships workshop will open their discussion for all to take part in.

You may have seen her on Black Ink Crew Chicago featuring 9Mag Tattoo shop. Kat Tat’s art artistry have marked many including celebrities. She is one of the most sought after female Tattoo Artist. We celebrate with her opening Enigma Tattoo in Beverly Hills. In our conversation Kat shares how she did not allow challenges to stop her from launching out on her own. Kevin Is The Guest Ringmaster @ Universoul Circus

Universoul Circus will be hosting Kids Lives Matter on Wednesday, June 13th at 7 PM, (Houston Butler Stadium, TX) featuring the first ever Autistic Guest Ringmaster, Video Blogger 15yr. old Kevin, producer of Kevin’s World on Facebook.  Kevin was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome at the age of 2.  Asperger syndrome is a condition on the autism spectrum, with generally higher functioning. People with this condition may be socially awkward and have an all-absorbing interest in specific topics. I had the awesome opportunity to interview Kevin and I was truly blessed.

Paul Lawrence Morgan (known as) PJ Morgan is a sought after musician, songwriter and producer. PJ graduated from Bowie State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Technology, and a minor in Classical Piano performance Magna Cum Laude. Currently PJ has been very busy. He just finished up his debut solo instrumental Jazz Album The Transparency Project. While teaching Composition and Theory at The Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC.
